FIRM HISTORY
The certified public accounting practice of GODFREY WISE BERG, CPAs & ADVISORS, LLC, was established on July 1, 2005 by D. Craig, Godfrey, CPA, Tax Partner and Connie L. Berg, Certified Human Resource Specialist, Office Manager. The firm presently has nine employees -- its' three partners and six professional staff.



PARTNER AND MANAGER PROFILES



D. Craig Godfrey, CPA. Mr. Godfrey received his Bachelor’s of Science with high honors from Northern Michigan University and became a certified public accountant in 1986. Mr. Godfrey has over 20 years of experience with extensive tax expertise. For the past seven years, he served as the Treasurer of the Lansing Rotary. Craig is often asked to share his tax and accounting expertise at statewide seminars for small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and with community leaders.
 

Norman A. Wise, CPA. Mr. Wise received his Bachelor of Arts and his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University and became a certified public accountant in 1973. Mr. Wise has over 37 years of experience with extensive tax expertise. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Public Accountants and the Greater Lansing Estate Planning Council, where he served as Treasurer.

Connie L. Berg co-founded the firm with Mr. Godfrey after 26 years of experience as an office professional in a variety of diverse business arenas. She graduated from Central Michigan University with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science and also graduated from Delta College with Honors with an Associate’s in Business Studies—Interior Design. Most recently she received certification as a Certified Human Resource Specialist through the School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University. Connie is a member of Michigan Society of Association Executives and the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.

 

Cathy Marcus, CPA graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Accounting. She became a CPA in 2008. Cathy has over 25 years of experience in individual taxation, 6 years in not-for-profit taxation and experience in trusts, partnerships and corporate returns. She is a member of AICPA, MACPA, Michigan Women's Tax Association, and National Treasurer for the National Association of Career Women. Cathy is currently working on completing her Master's degree in Business Administration.


Michele Fox is a senior accountant with Godfrey Wise Berg, CPAs & Advisors. She has 6 years of public accounting experience related to payroll, accounting, non-profit organizations, trusts and estates. Michele has her B.S. and MBA in Accounting from Baker College and is currently studying to take the CPA exam.
